Permanent ingrown toenail removal

Ingrown toenails on a woman's foot, isolated on white background, pain in the big toe clos

This treatment is a minimally invasive surgery that permanently removes recurring ingrown toe nails.

This type of treatment is performed for those patient that have a ingrown nails that just don't go away.

This appointment is mutually agreed upon by both the podiatrist and the patient and is a separate appointment to a general nail and skin care appointment.

Whats Involved:

- Local anaesthetic is used to numb the toe for the procedure

- The side of the nail is removed, NOT the whole nail (that is rarely required)

- A chemical is placed down the base of the nail to sterilise the nail matrix cells, this prevents that piece of nail from regrowing again

- The toe is then cleaned and dressed and you will be required for a minimum of two follow-up appointments to monitor the healing of the toe
